Veteran law enforcement leader announces campaign during Fourth of July parade, pledging focus on safety and constitutional rights

FARMINGTON, NM - Daniel Webb, a longtime local resident, U.S. Army veteran, and seasoned law enforcement professional, formally announced his candidacy for San Juan County Sheriff on Friday during the annual Fourth of July Parade in downtown Farmington.

Webb has dedicated more than 28 years to public safety in law enforcement and corrections. He chose Independence Day to make his public announcement as a tribute to the values he believes are essential to the office of the sheriff.

“The Fourth of July is about celebrating our freedoms, our Declaration of Independence, and America as an independent nation,” said Webb. “There’s no better time or place to share my commitment to protecting our community and serving the people of San Juan County than right here, among friends and neighbors who came out to celebrate this important holiday!”

During the parade, announcers introduced Webb to the crowd, highlighting his decades-long career. Webb began his service with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office in 1997, rising to the rank of lieutenant. He now serves as the administrator of the San Juan County Detention Center. His platform emphasizes strengthening public safety through community-first policing and protecting the rights guaranteed by our Constitution, especially the Second Amendment.

“My commitment is to the people of San Juan County,” said Webb. “A vote for me is a vote for a safer community and an elected leader who will uphold your constitutional rights.”
