Tuesday night, we joined Farmington Night Out and Path to Wellness in downtown Farmington, an event hosted by the Farmington Police Department in partnership with the San Juan Safe Communities Initiative.

Farmington Night Out is held each year to strengthen trust and partnership between law enforcement and the community while encouraging neighbors to come together in a spirit of unity and support.

The event also highlights National Recovery Month, a time to honor the strength and resilience of individuals on their recovery journey and to recognize the families, providers, and communities who walk alongside them.

Together, we celebrate hope, healing, and the belief that recovery is possible for everyone. It’s always a great reminder that safety and well-being go hand in hand.

I enjoyed visiting with residents about what matters most to them, and yes, I even joined the UMattR Teens for the Cha Cha Slide! Let’s just say they’ve got the moves, and I did my best to keep up.

We wrapped up the week this morning in Aztec for the Fall Festival Parade. Despite the rain, spirits were high, and the community’s energy was contagious.

Events like this are what make San Juan County such a special place to live and serve.

I hope everyone takes some time to unwind and enjoy this cozy, rain-filled weekend.
