When a law enforcement agency struggles with high turnover, the community feels the impact. Constantly losing personnel means fewer experienced deputies on the street, longer response times, and a revolving door of new hires who are still learning the community they serve.
When a department retains qualified, committed deputies, you get stronger relationships between law enforcement and the public, better crime prevention, and safer neighborhoods.
As your sheriff, I will prioritize supporting and retaining qualified deputies by focusing on morale, competitive pay, and ongoing training opportunities.
Deputies who feel valued and equipped to do their jobs stay longer, perform better, and build the trust that is essential to public safety.
I will also be a strong voice in Santa Fe, advocating for policies that support and strengthen law enforcement statewide.
Supporting those who serve us begins with making sure their voices are heard where decisions are made.
