Last night, I had the opportunity to attend an Americans for Prosperity New Mexico event focused on strengthening our state, starting at the community level

Former Lt. Governor John Sanchez said something that stuck with me: real change starts from the bottom up. 

That’s what I believe, too! 

Strong communities aren’t built from the Roundhouse down. They’re built by listening to the people, protecting their rights, and ensuring families feel safe where they live. 

Elected officials work for the people, not the other way around. 

It was great to hear from leaders who understand the importance of shared values, such as our shared desire for safe communities and a government that works for the people.

Because safety isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue. It’s something everyone cares about. As your sheriff, I’ll work to ensure the safety of all people in San Juan County, no matter your background or beliefs.
